Quick answer

Is Grigora the right one.com alternative?

Grigora is a one.com Aida alternative for a managed website, CMS, newsletter and store from $12/month billed annually. one.com can suit buyers who want domain registration, mailboxes and hosting options in one account. Compare Aida website plans separately from shared hosting, and include both introductory and renewal charges when evaluating the cost.

Choose Grigora if you want…

  • Published annual and monthly rates to compare with introductory offers
  • A newsletter and subscriber list in the subscription, not on a roadmap
  • A store on the entry plan rather than on the top plan
  • Published AI allowances instead of an unnamed fair-use balance
  • More than one website without buying a second subscription

Stick with one.com if you…

  • •Want the domain, the DNS, the mailboxes and the site on one invoice
  • •Need SSH, a database, PHP or WordPress under the same account
  • •Trade in Europe and want iDEAL, Bancontact, Swish or MobilePay by default
Bottom line: Grigora combines publishing and newsletters. one.com combines registrar, mailbox and hosting services; price the actual package and renewal term you need.

Reasons to consider moving from one.com to Grigora

Consider these trade-offs against your existing setup before planning a move.

1

The renewal invoice

Aida and shared hosting are sold as a discounted first year paid upfront. Portfolio renews 40% higher and Hosting Professional renews at more than five times the first-year total. Nothing about the product changed, only the price.

2

There was never a newsletter

Mailbox hosting is not email marketing. No Aida plan has a subscriber list, a campaign builder or automations, and one.com's own launch material puts email marketing in summer 2026.

3

One site, and the vendor agrees

Every Aida plan is capped at one website, and one.com's FAQ says the product is not suited to anyone operating multiple sites. A second site means a second prepaid subscription.

4

The AI stopped mid-month

Aida's balance is metered, unpublished and cannot be topped up. When it runs out, generation stops until the next billing cycle and the documented remedy is to contact support.

What one.com does well

  • A real hosting account underneath: SSH, MariaDB, PHP 8 and 1-click WordPress
  • Registrar, DNS, free first-year domain and mailboxes on your domain included
  • The Modernise path rebuilds an existing site from its URL and keeps your images
  • EU hosting, 24/7 human chat in 11 languages and local European payment methods

Where one.com falls short

  • Prepaid annual terms with a large renewal step-up, and no month-to-month option
  • No email marketing on any Aida plan
  • One website per subscription, which the vendor's own FAQ underlines
  • An unpublished monthly AI cap that halts generation with no top-up available

The first-year price and the renewal price

Fit: Grigora

This is hosting pricing applied to a website builder. Aida is sold only as a one-year subscription paid upfront, at a rate that rises when the term ends. Portfolio is $9.99 a month for year one and $13.99 a month after that. Hosting Professional is steeper still: $35.88 for the first year, $191.88 to renew. Grigora publishes annual and monthly billing rates; confirm current renewal terms for either provider.

Takeaway: Two years of one.com Portfolio costs $287.76 and two years of Grigora Starter costs $288. Only one of them includes a store and a newsletter.

SSH, MariaDB and a one-click WordPress install

Fit: one.com

Here is the honest one, and it is not a small concession. Every Aida plan sits on a real shared hosting account. You get SSH and SFTP, MariaDB databases, PHP 8, mod_rewrite, IPv6, Anycast DNS with DNSSEC and a WordPress installer, on the same subscription as the builder. Grigora is managed hosting with no server behind it: there is no shell, no database and no PHP, and no self-hosting or code export either.

Takeaway: If you want a server as well as a website, one.com gives you one and Grigora does not pretend to.

Being your registrar and your mail host as well

Fit: one.com

one.com registers the domain, runs the DNS and hosts the mailboxes, and all of that arrives inside the website plan. Portfolio includes one 3 GB mailbox, Booking five and Commerce twenty-five, with webmail, IMAP and POP3, spam and virus filtering, auto-responders and a migration tool. The domain is free for the first year. Grigora expects you to bring a domain and sells professional mailboxes separately from $5 each.

Takeaway: On Grigora the mailbox is a line item. On one.com it is already in the price, and so is the domain for the first year.

Aida's AI balance, and the number nobody publishes

Fit: Grigora

Aida meters AI usage against a monthly balance. one.com documents that every request draws that balance down, that the same request does not cost the same twice, that you cannot work out in advance how many pages or edits are included, that you get a warning at 80%, and that at 100% Aida stops generating until the balance resets next month. The three tiers are named AI Light, AI Essential and AI Generous. No quota is published for any of them, and top-ups are not currently possible.

One website per subscription, by the vendor's own admission

Fit: Grigora

The Aida plan table reads Websites: 1 on Portfolio, Booking and Commerce alike. A second site is a second subscription with its own prepaid year. one.com is unusually direct about the limit: its own FAQ says Aida is not suited to larger businesses with existing sites, advanced customisation, complex workflows, or anyone operating multiple websites. Grigora runs one to five sites on a single plan and sells a White Label plan for people who resell them.

Mailboxes yes, campaigns no

Fit: Grigora

Every Aida plan hosts mail on your domain, which is a genuine benefit and covered above. None of them send a newsletter. There is no email marketing row in the published plan table, and group.one's own launch release from 29 May 2026 lists email marketing as a summer 2026 addition. A beta Newsletters tool powered by MiniCRM exists, but only inside the legacy classic Website Builder, and MiniCRM itself is a separate add-on with no US price published.

Checkout: Shore Pay against Stripe and Razorpay

Depends on your needs

Neither platform takes a cut of your sales. one.com's Commerce plan lists 0% transaction fees as a feature and routes payments through Shore Pay, group.one's in-house gateway built on Stripe infrastructure and live in 39 countries including the US. That brings European methods wired in by default. The catch is choice: Shore Pay appears to be the only gateway, and its fee schedule is published in euros, so a US merchant's real cost is unverified.

The parts of Aida dated to Q4 2026

Fit: Grigora

Aida is four months old and the marketing has run ahead of the build. The live pricing page sells product variants and order management as Commerce features, while one.com's own capabilities and upcoming features page dates those same items, plus weight-based shipping, to Q4 2026. The Website Builder versus Aida comparison still marks the Aida shop as all shop features coming soon, and both analytics and the SEO and social bundle as coming soon. Treat the shop as young.

Blogging and meta tags through a chat window

Fit: Grigora

Aida lists blog post management and AI blog content generation on all three plans, and that is the whole content feature set in the published table. No categories, no tags, no author profiles, no scheduling, no RSS, no structured collections. SEO is listed as basic per-page metadata plus page-level settings edited through the AI chat, with the automatic sitemap only arriving in August 2026. If you want a real CMS from one.com, the answer is their WordPress hosting, not Aida.

Grigora vs one.com pricing

one.com quotes a first-year rate on a prepaid year. The number that matters is the renewal.

Read live from one.com/en-us/plans-pricing on 11 September 2026 and cross-checked against that page's JSON-LD offers in USD. Monthly figures are an annual term expressed per month: there is no month-to-month option on Aida or shared hosting, only on Managed VPS. Renewal rates apply from year two. There is no free plan, only a 14-day trial. Classic Website Builder plans are no longer listed on the live US pricing page, so no price is quoted for them here.

Grigora Starter at $12/mo includes a store, a CMS and a newsletter for 2,500 subscribers. one.com Portfolio at $9.99/mo includes none of those and becomes $13.99/mo at renewal. The cheapest one.com plan with a shop is $20.99/mo in year one and $27.99/mo after that, and it still has no newsletter.

The real cost: Grigora vs one.com over two years

Take a one-person business that wants a site, a shop and a monthly email to 2,500 people. Price both sides across two years, because one.com's first year is a discount and the second year is the real rate.

one.com figures from one.com/en-us/plans-pricing, 11 September 2026. Payment processing fees apply on both sides; Shore Pay's rates are published in euros only, so a US merchant's effective rate is unverified. Grigora loses three rows here on purpose: the domain, the mailbox and the server are things a host gives you and a website platform does not. Multi-year totals assume current Grigora rates continue and exclude optional products; they are illustrations, not a renewal-price guarantee.

Is Grigora the right one.com alternative for you?

Where a flat software price beats a prepaid hosting year, and where it does not.

one.com alternative for businesses that want the renewal price to be the sign-up price

Portfolio goes from $9.99 to $13.99 a month and Hosting Professional from $35.88 to $191.88 a year. Grigora publishes $12, $20 and $45 and charges the same again next year.

… for anyone who needs to email their list

No Aida plan sends campaigns. Grigora includes the list, the campaign builder, automations and segmentation from Starter, with 2,500 to 25,000 subscribers by plan.

… for a shop that should not cost triple

one.com puts the shop on its top plan at $20.99 a month rising to $27.99. Grigora puts the catalogue, variants, stock and digital downloads on the $12 plan, with 0% platform commission.

one.com is the right call if you need a server and mailboxes as much as a site

If you want your registrar, DNS, mail, WordPress, SSH and a database on one invoice, one.com does that and Grigora does not. That is a real reason to stay, and a 14-day trial costs nothing to test.

Which one is right for you?

Choose Grigora if…

  • You want to compare the complete subscription and renewal terms
  • The newsletter has to live in the same subscription as the site
  • You want the store on the entry plan, not the top one
  • You run more than one site, or build sites for clients
  • You want the AI allowance written as a number before you buy

Choose one.com if…

  • •You want the domain, DNS, mailboxes and hosting on one bill
  • •You need SSH, MariaDB, PHP or a WordPress install
  • •You sell into Europe and want local payment methods built in

How to switch from one.com to Grigora

Plan this one around two dates: your renewal date, and the day your DNS changes. one.com is your registrar and your mail host as well as your web host, so the domain and the mailboxes need a decision of their own. No export or code download is documented for Aida sites, so treat the content as a copy-out job rather than a file transfer.

6 migration steps from one.com to Grigora, detailed below
A planning checklist, not an automated transfer. Read the steps below before changing your live site.
  1. 1

    Generate the Grigora draft first

Describe the business in a sentence and Grigora builds a first draft with pages, layout and copy, so you are editing something rather than staring at a blank canvas.

  2. 2

Copy the content out by hand

There is no documented export path from Aida, so lift the page copy, the blog posts and the product details manually. Save the images from the Aida media manager while the subscription is still live.

  3. 3

Decide what happens to the mailboxes

Mail on your domain is part of the one.com plan. Either keep a cheap one.com mail subscription and point only the web records at Grigora, or move to Grigora mailboxes from $5 each and migrate the mail before you cancel.

  4. 4

Bring the products and start the list

Rebuild the catalogue in Grigora's store with variants, stock and any digital downloads, connect Stripe or Razorpay, then import the contacts you have been collecting and set up the first campaign.

  5. 5

    Test before changing DNS

Record renewal and cancellation dates, preserve DNS and MX records, and plan mailbox migration separately. Confirm which Aida features are available in your account rather than relying on roadmap dates. Check page titles, descriptions, canonical URLs, internal links, image alt text, forms and checkout on the new site. Keep an old-to-new URL map, add relevant 301 redirects and monitor indexing after launch; redirects cannot guarantee unchanged rankings.

  6. 6

Repoint the domain, then diary the renewal

Transfer the domain out or repoint the DNS, redirect old URLs to map previous addresses to their closest replacement, and cancel before the prepaid year rolls into the higher renewal rate.

Why people look for a one.com alternative in 2026

one.com is not a builder company that added hosting. It is a hosting company, Danish by birth and now run out of Malmo, that has been selling domains, DNS, mailboxes and shared servers since 2002 to roughly a million small businesses across the Nordics, DACH and Benelux. In May 2026 it launched the Aida AI Website Builder as a new product line, three plans deep, sitting on top of that same infrastructure. Understanding that order of events explains almost everything about how the product is priced and what it leaves out.

The second year costs more than the first

Aida is sold the way shared hosting has always been sold: a one-year term, paid upfront, at a rate that only applies to the first term. Portfolio is $119.88 now and $167.88 to renew. Booking is $167.88 now and $227.88 to renew. Commerce is $251.88 now and $335.88 to renew. The shared hosting line is more dramatic again, with Professional at $35.88 for the first year and $191.88 for the second, an 81% introductory discount that fully unwinds. There is no month-to-month option anywhere except Managed VPS, so the smallest commitment you can make to the builder is twelve months of money in advance.

The plan covers the site and stops

A hosting bundle is generous about infrastructure and thin about software. Every Aida plan includes mailboxes, a free first-year domain, 25 to 100 GB of SSD, databases and WordPress. None of them includes email marketing: there is no such row in the published plan table, and group.one's own launch material listed email marketing as a summer 2026 addition. The blog is blog post management plus AI content generation, with no categories, tags, authors, scheduling or RSS in the plan table. SEO is basic per-page metadata that you change by asking the chatbot. Anything more is an add-on: MiniCRM, SocialPilot, Rank Math for WordPress customers, or a Managed SEO retainer priced by consultation.

One site, an unpublished AI cap, and a roadmap doing a lot of work

Every Aida plan is capped at one website, and one.com is refreshingly blunt that the product is not meant for anyone running several. AI usage is metered against a monthly fair-use balance the company does not quantify: the tiers are called AI Light, AI Essential and AI Generous, you get a warning at 80%, generation stops at 100% until the cycle resets, and top-ups are not currently possible. Meanwhile the pricing page sells Commerce product variants and order management while the vendor's own roadmap dates both to Q4 2026, and its Website Builder comparison still marks the Aida shop as coming soon. Some of what you are buying has not shipped yet.

How Grigora compares

Grigora provides managed website hosting, so customers do not maintain a separate hosting stack. Starter is $12/month billed annually, Pro $20 and Business $45; month-to-month rates are $15, $25 and $59. These are current subscription prices, not a guarantee that future renewal rates cannot change.

One rate, with the trading parts already in it

Starter carries a store with catalogue, variants, stock and digital downloads at 0% platform commission, a CMS with categories, author profiles, directories and moderated comments, email marketing to 2,500 subscribers with automations and segmentation, 15,000 AI credits, and free SEO tools with schema controls and IndexNow submission. On one.com the nearest equivalent is Commerce at $20.99 a month for the first year and $27.99 after, and it still has no newsletter. Over two years, Portfolio costs $287.76 and Grigora Starter would cost $288 if its current annual rate continues, which is close enough to call level on price and not close at all on what you get.

Where one.com still wins: it is a real host, and Grigora is not

Grigora has no SSH, no MariaDB, no PHP and no WordPress installer, and it is not a registrar or a mail host, so the domain is yours to buy and mailboxes start at $5 each. one.com bundles all of that into the website plan and adds 24/7 human chat in 11 languages, EU data residency and European payment methods wired into the shop by default. Its Modernise flow, which rebuilds a dated site from its existing URL and keeps the images and copy, is a better answer to the most common small-business problem than any blank template. If your shortlist is really about owning a server and an inbox as much as a website, one.com is the right shape and this page will not argue you out of it.
