Same $12 a month. The CodeDesign alternative with the newsletter and store included

CodeDesign.ai Individual is $12 a month billed annually, or $15 month to month. Grigora Starter is $12 billed annually, or $15 month to month. Same two numbers, so the choice is what each one turns on. Individual carries WordPress publishing, payment funnels and built-in analytics. Starter carries a newsletter, a native store and a CMS with directories and authors. On CodeDesign's comparison table, HTML and CSS export and the AI Companion editor start on Growth, at $24 a month billed annually.

Quick answer

Is Grigora the right CodeDesign alternative?

Four things on CodeDesign's list have no Grigora equivalent. It hands the project back as HTML and React. It publishes into WordPress, syncs those pages and can use WordPress as the site backend. It builds sales funnels with checkout, upsell, downsell and thank-you pages. And it crawls the whole site for SEO problems, returns a health score with the errors ranked, and re-crawls so you can see whether the fixes landed. Grigora has no code export at any tier, in any format. Both entry plans cost $12 a month billed annually, so the rest of this is about which plan carries what. CodeDesign Individual carries AI generation, the drag-and-drop builder, WordPress, funnels, the blog and built-in analytics, metered at 100 AI credits a month. It is also the plan where four rows read as unavailable: HTML and CSS export, source code download, asset export, and hosting the exported code elsewhere. The table puts all four on Growth, $24 a month billed annually. The Individual card on that same page lists "Export 1 Site (HTML & React)*", and the pricing FAQ answers yes to exporting code. Both statements are CodeDesign's own, so read the comparison table before choosing a plan for the export. Grigora Starter spends its $12 on a newsletter, a native store and a CMS that carries more than a blog, none of which appear in CodeDesign's 132 feature rows.

Choose Grigora if you want…

  • The mailing list and the store on the entry plan, not one tier up
  • A mailing list in the same product: subscribers, campaigns, segments, automations
  • A product catalogue with variants, stock and 0% platform commission
  • Blog structure that goes past categories and tags
  • Manual editing in the block editor that spends no credits

CodeDesign is the better fit if…

  • •You want the project handed back as HTML and React files you can host elsewhere
  • •You publish into WordPress, sync those pages, or run WordPress as the backend
  • •You sell one offer down a funnel with checkout, upsell, downsell and thank-you pages
  • •You want a crawler that scores the whole site and re-crawls after the fixes
Bottom line: Same $12 entry price: CodeDesign puts code export on the $24 plan, while Grigora puts the newsletter, store and CMS on the $12 one.

Every figure here is USD. CodeDesign's pricing page rendered in local currency when it was read for this comparison, so its rates above are taken from the USD fields inside that page's own pricing data rather than from the converted figures on screen. Annual rates are used wherever a provider offers both. Gateway fees sit outside all of these plans. Prices move, so check each provider before buying.

Sources for the overview table

What to check before picking a CodeDesign plan

Four things set out on their detailed pricing table.

1

The AI editor starts on the second plan

The AI Companion editor, vibe coding, the agentic chatbot, the AI image generator and the sitemap mapping workflow are ticked on Growth and Scale and dashed on Individual. Individual gets AI website, page, section and copy generation, plus the drag-and-drop builder.

2

Read the export rows before choosing

The Individual card lists "Export 1 Site (HTML & React)*", and the pricing FAQ answers that you can export in HTML and React formats. Further down the same page, the Code Export rows put HTML and CSS export, source code download, asset export and hosting elsewhere on Growth and Scale. Growth is $24/mo billed annually.

3

The free domain appears in two places

The Individual card lists a free custom domain for one year. The table row "Free domain with annual subscription" is ticked for Growth and Scale only, and the annual plan advantage row names the $30 domain on Growth.

4

The page lists two credit numbers

The Plan Overview rows show 100 monthly AI credits on Individual, Growth and Scale. The AI Tools rows show 100, 200 and 400. Both tables sit on the same pricing page, so check which one your plan is sold on.

What CodeDesign does well

  • Code export that hands over the source, the CSS and the site assets in HTML and React, to host where you like
  • WordPress publishing, page sync and WordPress as the backend, from Individual
  • Sales and marketing funnels with checkout, upsell, downsell and thank-you pages
  • A site crawler that returns a health score and prioritised errors, plus analytics that need no tracking script
  • Domain registration inside the product across 400+ TLDs, at the price registrars charge

Where CodeDesign falls short

  • The Code Export rows are marked Growth and Scale, while the Individual card names an export of one site
  • The AI Companion editor and vibe coding start on Growth, $24/mo billed annually
  • 100 credits a month on Individual, against about 10 for a full page generation
  • No newsletter in any of the 132 feature rows: email means a notification when a form is submitted
  • No product catalogue, so the checkout pages live inside funnels rather than a store

Grigora vs CodeDesign: feature by feature

A category-by-category breakdown, pricing, AI, design, e-commerce, email, SEO, performance, and support.

The same $12, switching on different things

Fit: Grigora

Price and site count both cancel out here. Each $12 plan publishes exactly one website, so neither figure separates them. What is worth reading is where that $12 sits on each ladder. On CodeDesign it is the first of three paid steps, with Growth at $24 and Scale at $83 above it. On Grigora it is also the first of three, with Pro at $20 and Business at $45. So the decision is how far up your own ladder the thing you came for turns out to be. On CodeDesign the code export and the AI Companion editor are one step up. On Grigora the newsletter, the store and the CMS are already on the bottom step.

Takeaway: Same price, same single site. What differs is how far up each ladder your must-have sits.

The export: one page, two answers about the plan

Fit: CodeDesign

CodeDesign exports code and Grigora does not, so the only open question is which plan carries it. The detailed comparison table puts HTML and CSS export, downloading the source code, exporting website assets and hosting the exported code elsewhere on Growth and Scale, with a dash against Free and Individual. Higher up the same page, the Individual plan card lists "Export 1 Site (HTML & React)*", and the pricing FAQ answers the export question with "Yes, you can export your code in HTML and React formats". The homepage puts the word in the H1: "AI Website Builder Build, Host & Export Websites". Every one of those statements is CodeDesign's own. Price the plan from the comparison table rather than from the card.

Takeaway: Buy it for the export and the table, not the card, is the row that tells you which plan: Growth, $24 a month billed annually.

The pricing page counts credits twice

Fit: Grigora

Monthly AI credits appear in two tables on that page and the two do not agree. The Plan Overview rows list 100 a month on Individual, Growth and Scale. The AI Tools rows further down list 100, 200 and 400. Individual reads 100 in both, so the $12 plan is settled, but anyone buying Growth or Scale for the allowance is choosing between two figures published on one page. The rate behind them is stated, which helps: CodeDesign's FAQ says one credit covers a small task such as a text change or a style edit, and that a full page generation typically uses around 10. A hundred credits is therefore about ten pages, or a hundred small edits. Grigora Starter carries 15,000 credits for generation and AI writing, and moving a block by hand spends none of them.

Takeaway: Individual's hundred is not in dispute. Above it, check which of the two tables your plan was sold on.

What editing spends once the site exists

Depends on your needs

Neither $12 plan comes with an AI you can talk to about a page that already exists. On CodeDesign the AI Companion editor, AI-assisted vibe coding, the agentic chatbot, the AI image generator and the sitemap mapping workflow are dashed on Individual and ticked on Growth, which is $24 a month billed annually. Grigora documents no chat-to-edit companion on any plan either. What both entry plans do carry is metered AI writing and unmetered hands. Individual lists AI website, page and section generation, AI copy generation, rewriting and tone adjustment, each marked "Uses AI credits" against 100 a month, plus the drag-and-drop builder that every CodeDesign plan has. Grigora spends credits on the same kind of work and nothing at all on block editing.

Takeaway: Both meter the AI writing and neither meters the hands. The difference is the size of the balance, not who owns an editor.

Generations are capped on top of the credits

Fit: Grigora

There is a second number beside the credit balance. Website generations are capped by the month: 3 in total on the free tier, 20 a month on Individual, 50 on Growth, unlimited on Scale. How that cap relates to the credits is stated two ways on the same page: the plan card prints a monthly generation count, while the comparison table row for AI website generations reads "Uses AI credits" on all three paid plans. Worth resolving before you plan a month around either number. Grigora caps its own things, one to five sites by plan and 2,500 to 25,000 newsletter subscribers, but generations are not counted separately: a fresh site draws on the same balance as the rest of the AI writing.

Takeaway: Two allowances run down at once on Individual: the 100 credits and the 20 generations.

Deep capture, no mailing list

Fit: Grigora

CodeDesign's table is well stocked on the way in. Contact forms, custom form fields, form submission collection, form webhooks, lead-generation forms, booking forms and custom booking questions are all marked from Individual up. On the way out there is a single email row in all 132 of them, and it is a notification to you when somebody submits a form. No subscriber list, campaign, segment or automation appears in the table or on the homepage. Grigora carries the list and the sending on the same $12: 2,500 subscribers on Starter, 7,500 on Pro and 25,000 on Business, with campaigns, segments and automations.

Takeaway: Everything CodeDesign captures lands in a database. The only message it sends is addressed to you, so the list it builds has to be worked in another tool.

One funnel, or a catalogue

Depends on your needs

These are two shapes of selling and each product has one of them. Every stage of CodeDesign's funnel is on Individual: Stripe integration, online payment collection, checkout pages, upsell pages, downsell pages, thank-you pages and payment-enabled funnels. One offer, one route through it, payment at the end, on the $12 plan, and Grigora has no funnel builder to set against that. What the table never mentions is stock: no products, no variants, no inventory, no collections and no digital downloads appear anywhere in it. That is the Grigora side, settling through Stripe or Razorpay with no platform commission.

Takeaway: CodeDesign sells one offer down a funnel. Grigora sells a catalogue. Match the shape to what you actually sell.

WordPress publishing, on the same $12

Fit: CodeDesign

This is CodeDesign's clearest win and it needs no hedging. WordPress publishing, WordPress page sync, updating synced WordPress pages and using WordPress as the website backend are all marked from Individual up, which is the $12 plan. You can design a page in CodeDesign, publish it into a WordPress site you already run, and push changes to it later. Grigora has nothing comparable at any tier. A Grigora site publishes to Grigora hosting on a domain you connect, and that is the whole of it.

Both ship SEO tools, one ships a crawler

Fit: CodeDesign

Start with what is shared, because it is most of it. CodeDesign's on-page SEO set runs on every plan including free: page titles, meta descriptions, slugs, heading controls, alt text, canonical URLs, Open Graph, schema, sitemap.xml and robots.txt, with built-in web analytics, visitor insights, Google Analytics and Tag Manager from Individual. Grigora's pricing page lists integrated SEO tools, real-time analytics, basic website analytics, Google Analytics and Google Search Console as plan features. The narrow thing on CodeDesign's side of the line is the crawler: a full crawl of the site returning a single health score, with errors, warnings and notices ranked by priority and a re-crawl to check whether the fixes worked. Nothing in Grigora is documented in that shape, and that alone is why this category goes to CodeDesign.

Read 2026-09-15 on codedesign.ai/pricing, from the USD fields in that page's own pricing data. Two tables on the page count credits differently: the plan overview lists 100 a month on Individual, Growth and Scale, while the AI tools table lists 100, 200 and 400. Their pricing FAQ puts a full page generation at about 10 credits.

At the same entry number the two plans switch on different lists. CodeDesign Individual gives one site, 100 credits, 20 generations a month, a blog, funnels with checkout and WordPress publishing, with code export and the AI Companion editor listed from Growth at $24. Grigora Starter gives one site, 15,000 credits, manual editing that spends nothing, a CMS with directories and authors, a 2,500 subscriber newsletter and a store at 0% commission, and no code export at any price.

The real cost: Grigora vs CodeDesign

A solo business on the entry plan for a year: one site, a mailing list for its customers, and a few products to sell. The plan line is the same number on both sides, so every row under it is the comparison.

Is Grigora the right CodeDesign alternative for you?

The price is the same. What arrives for it is not.

Best CodeDesign alternative at the same entry price

The two entry plans meet at $12 a month billed annually. Starter spends it on a newsletter, a native store and a CMS. Individual spends it on WordPress publishing, payment funnels and built-in analytics. Neither list contains the other, so picking a plan here is really picking a list.

… for keeping the hand editing off the meter

On Individual the AI generates the site and the drag-and-drop builder takes it from there, because the AI Companion editor and vibe coding are listed on Growth. Grigora is hand-edited after generation too. The difference is the meter: block edits spend nothing, and the month opens with 15,000 credits rather than 100.

… for selling products rather than running funnels

CodeDesign has Stripe, online payment collection and payment-enabled funnel checkout pages, with no catalogue behind them: no products, variants, inventory or digital downloads. Grigora's store carries all four and takes 0% platform commission.

CodeDesign is the right call if…

You want the code in HTML and React, WordPress publishing with page sync, funnels with upsell and downsell pages, or a crawler that scores the whole site and re-crawls to show whether the fixes worked. Grigora ships SEO controls and analytics of its own, but nothing that returns that health score. Read the Code Export rows of the comparison table before choosing the plan.

Which one is right for you?

Choose Grigora if…

  • You want the newsletter and the store switched on at $12
  • You want 15,000 credits on the entry plan rather than 100 a month
  • You want manual edits to spend nothing
  • You sell products with variants and stock, not funnel pages
  • You need more structure than a blog with categories and tags

Choose CodeDesign if…

  • •You want the pages handed back as HTML and React, and hosted wherever you like
  • •You publish to WordPress or run WordPress as the backend
  • •You run funnels with checkout, upsell and downsell pages
  • •You want a crawler that scores the site and lists what to fix first

How to move from CodeDesign to Grigora

Order matters here. Work out what your current plan actually switches on, collect the things CodeDesign only hands over while the subscription is live, and rebuild the rest afterwards.

5 migration steps from CodeDesign to Grigora, detailed below
A planning checklist, not an automated transfer. Read the steps below before changing your live site.
  1. 1

Read your own plan row first

On the comparison table, Individual runs one site with the blog, WordPress publishing, sales funnels with checkout, Stripe payments and a connected custom domain. The AI Companion editor, vibe coding, the AI image generator, the agentic chatbot and the sitemap workflow begin at Growth. One line is worth checking twice: the Individual card offers a free custom domain for a year, while the table ticks "Free domain with annual subscription" for Growth and Scale only and names the $30 domain on Growth. If your pages currently publish into WordPress, note that Grigora has no equivalent route.

  2. 2

Take the code export first, if you are on Growth or Scale

HTML and CSS export, downloading the website source code, exporting the assets and hosting the exported code elsewhere are all listed on Growth and Scale. Pull the files down while that plan is still active. Nothing on the Grigora side will recreate them later, because it does not hand back code on any plan.

  3. 3

Generate once, then move the content across

Work from the page list you wrote in step one rather than from a blank prompt. Generation spends credits and hand editing spends none, so the cheapest order is to generate once and then correct in the block editor, and Starter's 15,000 credits leave room for a second attempt if the structure comes out wrong. Then bring the content: blog posts with their categories and tags, collected form submissions, booking details and funnel copy. CodeDesign's blog is categories and tags; Grigora's CMS also holds author profiles, directories and collections, so decide which posts stay posts before you start pasting.

  4. 4

Turn the funnel into a catalogue, then start the list

This is the conversion that takes thought, because a funnel page is not a product. On CodeDesign an offer exists as a run of pages: a checkout page, an upsell, a downsell, a thank-you page, with the price written into the page itself. In Grigora the thing you sell is a record, a product carrying variants, stock, a price and, for a download, the file, and pages link to it. So decide what the offer actually is, build it once as a product, and rebuild the funnel steps as ordinary pages pointing at it. Checkout settles through Stripe or Razorpay at 0% platform commission. The addresses you exported go into the newsletter, which holds 2,500 subscribers on Starter.

  5. 5

Move the domain registration, not just where it points

CodeDesign registers domains inside the product across 400+ TLDs, at the price registrars charge. If you bought yours there, the registration itself sits with them, and that is the piece to deal with while the account is still open: start the transfer to whichever registrar you want holding it, then connect the domain to the Grigora site. If you only connected a domain you already owned elsewhere, there is nothing to transfer and it simply points somewhere new.

Why people look for a CodeDesign alternative in 2026

CodeDesign.ai's homepage headline reads "AI Website Builder Build, Host & Export Websites". Export is the third word of it. On the pricing page, the detailed comparison table puts HTML and CSS export, downloading the source code, exporting the assets and hosting the exported code elsewhere on Growth at $24 a month billed annually, and marks them unavailable on Individual at $12. The distance between the headline and that row is most of what people are checking when they start comparing, along with which plan carries the AI editor and how far 100 credits go.

The $12 plan generates, the $24 plan edits with AI

Individual includes AI website, page and section generation, AI copy generation and rewriting, tone adjustment and the drag-and-drop visual builder. The comparison table puts the AI Companion editor, AI-assisted vibe coding, the agentic AI chatbot, the AI image generator and the sitemap mapping workflow on Growth and Scale only. Growth is $24 a month billed annually, or $29 month to month. So the entry plan generates a site and every change after that is made by hand.

The card, the FAQ and the table

This is the one worth reading twice, because CodeDesign's own pages state it two ways. The pricing FAQ answers that you can export your code in HTML and React formats, the homepage says you can export your entire project to clean standard code, and the Individual plan card lists Export 1 Site in HTML and React. The detailed comparison table further down that same pricing page marks HTML and CSS export, source code download, asset export and hosting the exported code elsewhere as Growth and Scale, with a dash against Free and Individual. Both are published by CodeDesign, and the asterisk on the card's export line is not resolved anywhere on the page. If the export is the reason for buying, the comparison table is the row that decides which plan to pick.

A published rate, and two tables counting it

CodeDesign publishes what a credit is worth, which is more than most builders do. The pricing FAQ says a credit is consumed each time the AI performs a task such as a text change, a style edit or generating content, that one credit covers a small task, and that a full page generation typically uses around ten. Individual is listed with 100 AI credits a month, so roughly ten generated pages or a hundred small edits. The allowance above Individual is printed twice and the two printings disagree: the plan overview lists 100 credits on Individual, Growth and Scale, while the AI tools table lists 100, 200 and 400.

How Grigora compares at the same entry price

Grigora Starter is sold at exactly the CodeDesign Individual rate, annually and month to month alike. Price therefore settles nothing, and what remains is two lists of included features that have less in common than the matching number suggests.

What the same twelve dollars switches on

Line by line, then. One published site each. On CodeDesign, 100 AI credits a month and 20 website generations, with a full page generation costing about ten of those credits; on Grigora, 15,000 credits, and moving a block by hand spends none. Individual lists 10 GB of storage. Individual publishes to a codedesign.app subdomain, a connected domain or WordPress; Starter publishes to Grigora hosting on a domain you connect. Individual's blog runs on categories and tags with a post allowance marked Limited; Starter's CMS adds directories, collections, author profiles and moderated comments with admin replies. Individual carries sales funnels with checkout, upsell, downsell and thank-you pages and no product catalogue; Starter carries the catalogue, with variants, stock and digital downloads at 0% platform commission, and no funnels. Individual lists no mailing list of any kind; Starter includes 2,500 newsletter subscribers.

Capture is deep, sending is absent

Row after row of CodeDesign's table describes collecting a contact: contact forms, custom fields, submission collection, webhooks, booking forms, custom booking questions and lead-generation forms, all from Individual up. What no row describes is anything to send to the people those forms collect. The only row in the whole table that mentions email is a notification when a submission arrives. Selling works the same way round: Stripe integration, online payment collection, checkout pages and payment-enabled funnels are all present, and a catalogue with variants, inventory, collections or digital downloads is not. Grigora runs the opposite shape, a subscriber list that scales from 2,500 on Starter to 25,000 on Business, and a store that settles through Stripe or Razorpay with no platform commission.

Code, WordPress, funnels and the audit crawler

Grigora has no code export, in any format, on any plan. CodeDesign hands back HTML, CSS and React and lets you host the result anywhere, from Growth upward on the comparison table. WordPress is the second gap and it starts at Individual: publish a page into a WordPress site you already run, sync it, update it later, or use WordPress as the backend, and Grigora has no route of that kind. Then the sales and marketing funnels with upsell, downsell and thank-you pages. Then the SEO audit crawler, which crawls the whole site, returns a health score, sorts errors, warnings and notices by priority and re-crawls so you can watch them fall; Grigora ships SEO controls and analytics of its own, but nothing documented in that crawl-score-recrawl form. And domain registration inside the product, across 400+ TLDs at the price registrars charge. If one of those is the reason you are shopping, CodeDesign is the right purchase.

Published by Grigora, one of the products compared here. This is a comparison of public product documentation and published plans. Recommendations reflect the use cases described; they are not independent performance benchmarks. Homepage screenshots show how each product presents itself and do not establish feature availability.

Check the billing term, currency, regional availability, usage limits and add-ons before purchasing. A content export does not necessarily include the design, integrations or a working store. Migration steps need testing on your own site.

The price matches. The list does not.

Grigora Starter is sold at the same monthly rate as CodeDesign Individual and spends it differently: 15,000 AI credits rather than 100, a subscriber list and a product catalogue rather than funnel pages, and no charge for editing a block by hand. It has no code export and no WordPress publishing, so check those two first if either is why you are here. Start a 14 day free trial, no card needed.
