Quick answer

Is Grigora the right Dorik alternative?

Choose Dorik for its CMS, Airtable-powered pages, code export on eligible plans or one-time licence options. Choose Grigora when native newsletters and product-order management matter more than those features. A Dorik payment button or embedded store can already be sufficient, so include existing integrations in the decision.

Choose Grigora if you want…

  • A catalogue with variants, stock and downloads, not a payment button
  • A subscriber list you mail from, not a handoff to Mailchimp
  • Collections and directories without a 5-per-site ceiling
  • AI site generation with a published credit allowance
  • One price that already contains the shop and the newsletter

Stick with Dorik if you…

  • •Want a one-time licence instead of a subscription
  • •Resell branded client dashboards and bill through your own Stripe
  • •Need the finished site exported as clean HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Bottom line: A lifetime licence is only a bargain for as long as the caps still fit.

When to consider a Dorik alternative

What a cheap licence does not cover once the site starts working.

1

The licence covers the tier, not the growth

If Personal’s content or collaboration limits no longer fit, compare higher subscription tiers and available lifetime upgrades with a move to Grigora. Do not assume the only upgrade is a recurring subscription.

2

The CMS manages posts, never orders

Dorik's collections are strong at articles, directories and job boards, and hold no products, stock, orders or customers. The first real sale sends you to Shopify or Ecwid and a second bill.

3

Every plan assumes you pay for email elsewhere

Subscription forms hand addresses to Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, MailerLite, EmailOctopus, ConvertKit or Zapier. Dorik never sends, so the newsletter is always an extra subscription.

4

You cannot tell which price list is current

The live pricing page and the helpdesk article publish different tiers, different limits and different answers on whether a free plan exists. That is uncomfortable when you are buying a licence for good.

What Dorik does well

  • One-time lifetime licences at $249 and $599, which few rivals offer
  • Code export of clean HTML, CSS and JavaScript on Business and Agency
  • Full white-label client dashboards with your own Stripe billing on Agency
  • Native Airtable rendering, plus a deep SEO panel with LLMs.txt and hreflang

Where Dorik falls short

  • No cart, inventory, orders, shipping or tax on any tier
  • No email sending at all, only handoff to an outside provider
  • Personal caps 25 pages, 5 collections, 200 items and 0 collaborators
  • Two contradictory plan structures published at the same time

The 25-page, 5-collection ceiling

Fit: Grigora

Dorik offers a CMS with references, filters, scheduling and RSS. Personal includes 25 static pages and 200 blog posts with no collaborators; higher tiers expand those allowances. Check current collection limits against the directory or publication you intend to build.

What $249 once actually buys

Fit: Dorik

This is the honest concession, and it is a large one. Dorik still sells one-time licences while nearly every rival moved to subscriptions only. Grigora does not offer a lifetime price and will not pretend otherwise. Read the small print on both sides: the discounted two-year rates need checkout codes, and a lifetime Business licence meters the code export.

Takeaway: A lifetime licence can reduce recurring subscription costs when its allowances fit. Confirm the current offer and upgrade terms at checkout.

The upgrade a licence holder did not budget for

Fit: Grigora

The caps are only half the story. What matters is the price of lifting them. On Dorik, unlimited pages and any collaborator at all start at Business, and unlimited domains, the white-label dashboard, client billing, API access and site analytics are Agency-only. On Grigora the shop, the CMS and the newsletter are on every paid tier, and moving up buys sites, AI credits and subscribers.

Takeaway: Both platforms have plan allowances. Compare Dorik’s subscription and lifetime upgrade routes with Grigora’s recurring plans.

A payment button is not a shop

Fit: Grigora

Dorik's own feature page calls this 'E-commerce Integration', and the plan table lists 'Payment Button' as the commerce feature on every tier. You can take money through Stripe, PayPal, Gumroad or Paddle, or embed a Shopify or Ecwid store. What you cannot do is keep products, stock and orders in the site you built.

Where the subscription form sends you

Fit: Grigora

Dorik captures addresses well and sends none of them. The Subscription Form element posts submissions to ActiveCampaign, MailerLite, Mailchimp, EmailOctopus, ConvertKit or Zapier. There is no campaign builder, no segmentation, no automation and no sending infrastructure, so an email bill sits on top of every Dorik plan.

Handing a finished site to a client

Fit: Dorik

The second real concession. On Agency, the client sees your brand on the login screen, the dashboard, the help documentation, the notification emails and the support chat, gets granular per-module permissions, and can have the site transferred to their own account in a click. Client billing runs through your own Stripe. Grigora has White Label, but it is a separate $199/mo plan.

Takeaway: For resale under your own brand, Dorik Agency is both cheaper and more complete than Grigora White Label.

Airtable bases and native directories

Depends on your needs

Both platforms turn structured records into pages, from opposite directions. Dorik reads an Airtable base live, including formula, rollup and lookup fields, and can use it as a source for its own CMS. Grigora keeps the records in the site as directories and collections, with comments and an AI writer attached to them.

Takeaway: If the data already lives in Airtable, Dorik is the shorter route; if it should live in the site, Grigora keeps it there.

Meta controls, LLMs.txt and the Agency gate

Depends on your needs

Dorik leads with SEO and earns it: focus keywords, canonicals, per-collection sitemap control, a redirect manager, hreflang, a robots.txt editor, custom JSON-LD and an LLMs.txt editor for AI crawlers. The caveats are gating, since custom schema, robots.txt and LLMs.txt sit above the documented free tier and site analytics is Agency-only. Grigora covers fewer switches and ships more tooling around them.

Dorik pricing read on dorik.com/pricing on 11 September 2026. Two-year rates of $10.38 and $20.75 per month require checkout codes and carry no published expiry. Lifetime Agency and 2-year Agency are Contact Us. The pricing page advertises a 7-day free trial while help.dorik.com still describes a free plan, so treat the free tier as unconfirmed.

Grigora Starter at $12/mo includes the shop and the subscriber list. Dorik Personal at $20.75/mo includes neither, and caps the CMS at 5 collections.

Is Grigora the right Dorik alternative for you?

Where each platform earns the money.

Best Dorik alternative for a site that has to sell

A catalogue with variants, stock and digital downloads, instead of a Stripe button bolted to a pricing page.

… for a content site that outgrew 5 collections

Directories, collections, categories and moderated comments without counting them against a per-site cap.

… for anyone paying an ESP on top

The subscriber list, campaigns, segments and automations are in the plan rather than in a second invoice.

Dorik is the right call if…

You want a one-time licence rather than a subscription, you resell branded client dashboards and bill through your own Stripe, or you need the finished site exported as clean HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Which one is right for you?

Choose Grigora if…

  • The site needs a real catalogue, not a payment button
  • You are already paying Mailchimp or ConvertKit alongside the builder
  • Your collections and pages will pass Dorik's entry caps
  • You want collaborators without moving up a tier
  • You want the AI allowance written down before you buy

Choose Dorik if…

  • •A one-time licence beats any monthly price for you
  • •You resell client sites under your own brand and billing
  • •You need to export the build and host it yourself

How to move from Dorik to Grigora

Export available Dorik content and retain a reference copy of the design. A code export is useful for self-hosting or reconstruction but is not a Grigora project import.

5 migration steps from Dorik to Grigora, detailed below
A planning checklist, not an automated transfer. Read the steps below before changing your live site.
  1. 1

    Pull the content out first

Export the site on Business or Agency, take the RSS feed for posts, and use the CMS API on Agency to read collections. On Personal, copy the 25 pages and the collection records by hand; there are not many by definition.

  2. 2

    Generate the new site

Describe the business in Grigora and let the AI produce a draft, or start from one of the website templates, then rebuild the page structure in the block editor.

  3. 3

    Rebuild collections as directories

Map collection fields, references, posts, authors and URL paths to supported Grigora structures. Test a sample before importing or recreating the full archive.

  4. 4

    Bring the list home

Export only permission-based subscribers from the connected email provider. Preserve consent and suppression records and test signup, delivery and unsubscribe flows.

  5. 5

    Point the domain and redirect

Test forms, checkout, metadata, canonical URLs and redirects before switching the domain. Publish the sitemap and use IndexNow for supported engines; neither submission nor redirects guarantees rankings.

Why people look for a Dorik alternative in 2026

Dorik and Grigora overlap in AI website building and CMS publishing. The useful differences are how they handle newsletters, commerce, export and licensing. Existing Dorik users should also compare upgrading their current plan with the cost of rebuilding on another platform.

The licence was cheap and the ceiling was low

Dorik lists lifetime Personal at $249 and Business at $599, as well as monthly and annual subscriptions. Personal has lower page, post and collaboration limits. Outgrowing it means evaluating an upgrade, but it does not automatically require a Business subscription: a Business lifetime option is also advertised, subject to the current offer and upgrade terms.

The CMS is deep, and it only does content

It is worth being precise here, because Dorik's CMS is good. There are 11 to 12 field types depending on which of Dorik's own pages you read, cross-collection references, 17 filter types, dynamic templates, scheduling, RSS, per-post SEO and one-click import from WordPress, Medium, Ghost and Substack. What the CMS does not hold is anything transactional. There are no products with variants, no stock counts, no orders, no customers, no shipping and no tax. Dorik's own feature page calls selling 'E-commerce Integration': a Stripe, PayPal, Gumroad or Paddle payment button, or an embedded Shopify or Ecwid store. For a handful of digital downloads that is fine. For a catalogue it means the shop lives on a different platform, on a different bill, with a different admin.

Newsletter delivery uses an integration

The Subscription Form element is a capture field with a webhook behind it. Addresses go to ActiveCampaign, MailerLite, Mailchimp, EmailOctopus, ConvertKit or Zapier. Dorik has no campaign builder, no list segmentation, no automations and no sending infrastructure, so evaluate your email provider’s list limits, features and pricing separately.

How Grigora compares

Grigora starts from the same place, an AI-generated site with a CMS behind it, and draws the boundary in a different spot. The store and the newsletter are inside the plan, not integrations pointed at from it.

What $12 a month already contains

Starter at $12 billed annually, $15 month to month, includes AI site generation and website templates, the block editor with custom code injection, the CMS with posts, categories, author profiles, directories and moderated comments with admin replies, a newsletter with 2,500 subscribers and campaigns, segmentation and automations, and a store with a catalogue, variants, stock and digital downloads at 0% platform commission through supported Stripe or Razorpay checkout. Pro at $20 raises that to 2 sites, 40,000 AI credits and 7,500 subscribers, and Business at $45 to 5 sites, 250,000 credits and 25,000 subscribers. The comparison that matters is not $12 against $20.75. It is $12 against $20.75 plus an email platform plus, when a real product list appears, a shop.

Where Dorik still wins

Three places, and they are not small. The one-time licence is genuinely unusual and Grigora has no answer to it. Code export on Business and Agency hands you clean HTML, CSS and JavaScript plus the media, so a finished site can be hosted anywhere; Grigora exports content, not the build. And Dorik Agency at $79 a month billed yearly white labels the client's login screen, dashboard, help docs, notification emails and support chat, with client billing through your own Stripe and no per-site fee, where Grigora's White Label is a separate plan at $199 a month. If your business is reselling branded client sites, or you need the ability to walk away with the code, Dorik is the better buy and this page will not argue otherwise.
